I just recently got back from San Francisco for a vacation I had with my wife and her family and I have to admit San Fran is without a doubt one of my favorite cities. I love the weather, the food, the people and pretty much everything else about it. While there we stayed at the Palace Hotel which is one of the more historic and famous hotels. I really loved this hotel except for the daily charge to park your car. When I stay in San Fran I usually pay around $40 a day but with them they charged $60 a day. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. Aloha Hawaii Hotel Deals

hawaii hotel ratesWith it seeming like everything in regards to travel increasing in price it would only make sense that hotel rooms on the most beautiful islands go up as well. A new report came out today that showed Hawaii hotel prices rose 6% from last year. On the most traveled to island, the island of Oahu with Waikiki, it looks like the hotel rates have increased by over 8% since last year to an average rate of $181.66. The occupancy rate for hotels on Oahu was closed to full. For the island of Maui the average rate was $270.58 a night, which was an increase of close to 5% compared to last year. For the Big Island the room rates averaged around $209.86, which is an increase of close to 5% from last year. Continue reading…

Looks like Gas Prices Will be Hurting Weekend Travel

travel gas priesAs something that shouldn’t come to a surprise to anyone, with the rising gas prices around the country it will begin to hurt weekend travelers who are afraid to shell out a arm and a leg to travel. AA updated its gas prices and the surge at the pump continues.

And with this trend, it seems no one can escape the rising costs of filling up. According to the latest gas price numbers, the national average rose three cents overnight to $3.64. Last week, the same gallon cost $3.52.

As prices soar, President Obama defended his energy policy in Miami on Tuesday saying America is producing more oil now than in the last eight years and that dozens of new pipelines have been approved to help increase domestic supply. Still gas production is well below levels drilled in the 1970′s and imports have fallen as a result of decreased demand.

According to Heather Zichal, Deputy Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change, the White House will consider a possible federal gas tax holiday. Continue reading…
